Depression is….

There are many invisible illnesses and disabilities, from migraines, to autism, to cancer and depression. All are impossible to spot from the outside, but have a huge effect on the lives of those dealing with them, and on their friends and family.

Depression awareness week is over, but that does not mean that we can sit back, content that society has done it’s bit on this particular challenge. The chances are, we all know someone who is depressed, who needs a helping hand to reach the help they need. But spotting them will remain difficult unless we learn to talk freely about mental health, and mental ill health.

Lets all work on talking about the hidden. And on listening without judgement or the need to fix things.
